Founded in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1934 as a non-profit sports organization, established to dedicate itself to the promotion and propagation of chess in Puerto Rico. The FAPR will disclose the game of chess, as it is known and practiced in the vast majority of countries and as regulated by the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
